The heart of GRASP is its small, facilitated reading groups. Meeting once a month over ten months of the year, each group provides a consistent space to explore psychoanalytic theory through close reading, discussion and shared reflection.
Because membership remains within the same group over time, conversations deepen, relationships strengthen, and learning becomes an ongoing process rather than a series of isolated events.
GRASP members receive access to PEP-Web—the world's most comprehensive psychoanalytic literature archive—at a significantly reduced annual rate.
With more than 150 years of psychoanalytic literature, classic texts, journals and multimedia resources available online, members can continue their reading well beyond each monthly meeting.
Professional development is integrated naturally into the GRASP experience.
Members earn HPCSA-accredited Continuing Professional Development points through their participation in reading groups, workshops and selected educational events, allowing ongoing learning to contribute directly to professional requirements.
Psychoanalytic thinking continues to evolve across the world, and GRASP actively connects members with these conversations.
Through visiting analysts, international collaborations and educational partnerships, members gain exposure to contemporary developments from leading voices within the psychoanalytic community.
Perhaps the most valuable aspect of GRASP cannot be measured.
Over time, members become part of a collegial network of clinicians who support one another through thoughtful discussion, shared learning and professional referrals.
For many, these relationships become one of the defining benefits of membership.

"The greatest benefit of membership is not a single event or resource—it's belonging to a community that continues to shape your thinking throughout your career."

Whether you're taking your first steps into psychoanalytic thinking or have spent years in clinical practice...
GRASP offers a place to continue learning alongside colleagues who value thoughtful discussion, intellectual curiosity and the slow development of clinical understanding.
If you'd like to explore joining a reading group, attending a workshop or simply learning more about the community, we'd be delighted to hear from you.
